Nia@ the mend

My calling is to share space that is soulful, compassionate, and life-affirming. Although aspects of therapy (and therefore the self) may be painful or challenging, I am here to greet the already-existing sense of truth within you and support connection, re-sourcing, value and integration. Committing to wellness and sensitivity-related acceptance may be the hardest decision you have ever made. I offer you directness and compassion amid all the potentials of change and choice. What brings you here may include senses of grief, death anxiety, heightened awareness, altered states of consciousness, and a lack of clear communication or expression. LGBTQIA2SP++ are especially welcome. There is space for all of your emotions/experiences within the scope of my practice.

A little about my treatment philosophy

I hold special interest in guiding folx through complex emotional terrain. This includes healing from grief and death anxiety, navigating relational challenges, processing anomalous experiences, and developing assertive communication skills.

Especially dear to me is the work I do with people who have experienced sexual or religious trauma, or a combination thereof.

I'm also especially passionate about supporting creatives and those integrating spiritual/extraordinary phenomena for deeper self-worth. My near-decade of experience as a professional astrologer roundly informs this type of work.

Clients who do well with my approach are open-minded and flexible, and who come prepared with precise intentions for each meeting.

Therapy is one way of accessing inner wisdom. The therapeutic process continue to highlight difficult emotions as you assert your desires and intentions to live well. Communication issues, break-ups (platonic and romantic), relocation stress and grief, end-of-life and caregiver processes, dream and nightmare processing, present-moment awareness all hold special interest in our work.

a little about me

I use she/they/fae pronouns and welcome all gender expressions into this space. I have a decade-plus experience as a healing-arts provider and additional clinical experience to boot. When I'm not wearing my professional glamour, yoga, dance, hiking, HIIT, gardening, poetry, studying wisdom traditions, singing (to my dogs and spouse), and meditating occupy my time. I'm also a vegan—and I'm not annoying about it! I aspire to become bilingual, to grow chicken-of-the-woods mushrooms, and to learn to tolerate cold plunges.

a little about my therapeutic approach

I incorporate experiential and somatic work, AEDP, attachment-wounding repair, emotionally focused work, and psychosynthesis.

a little about credentials

Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, formally trained in Hakomi, certified Death Doula, certified astrologer, certified Hellinger Family Constellation provider.
