Life has a way of throwing us curveballs—those unexpected moments that leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves. I believe therapy is a space to pause, look honestly at what’s holding us back, and create a path forward that feels true to who we are. I bring trust, transparency, and a touch of humor into the work we do together, because growth doesn’t always have to feel heavy.
I was born in Bangladesh and adopted at eight months old, growing up all over North Carolina before planting roots in the mountains I now call home. My path to becoming a therapist has been anything but linear—I worked in specialty clothing retail, was a set decorator for TV and film, and owned a catering company in Asheville for 20 years. I was also a Division I coach, which gave me unique insight into the pressures faced by student-athletes and other high-performers.
In my early 50s, I faced a health challenge that required me to step away from my business and focus on recovery. While my medical care was excellent, I was struck by the lack of mental health support available for individuals and their families navigating illness. That gap, combined with my own healing journey, inspired me to go back to school.
Today, as I work toward my Master of Social Work at Western Carolina University and train as a therapist, I draw on life experiences, my ability to connect, and my belief that growth happens in safe, judgment-free spaces. I am committed to helping clients navigate life’s challenges with honesty, compassion, and openness—meeting them exactly where they are, walking alongside them toward where they want to be, and maybe even sharing a laugh along the way.
