I was born and raised in Wisconsin (yes, I do love cheese and Go Pack Go). I am thrilled to be in Asheville and excited to carve out what a life looks like in this beautiful city. You can probably find me running the trails, at a campsite, or reading a Haruki Murakami novel in the sun.
I am passionate about helping people find themselves amidst a world full of influence. Life comes with certain expectations and potential paths. Through the therapeutic process, we can find where the expectations we have of ourselves come from and discover a path forward that is uniquely yours.
First and foremost, my approach is person-centered, and I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space to discuss your thoughts and feelings. I am committed to individualizing each client’s therapeutic experience and providing an empathetic and comfortable environment.
My goal for the individuals that I work with is to find peace with their past, accepting of their present and hope for the future. The framework of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is where I like to begin. This framework helps to address our thoughts, feelings and behaviors directed at certain situations and people in our lives. We discuss how these patterns have been shaped and explore alternative mindsets.
My approach has also shifted to incorporate Jungian concepts such as our persona, shadow, and our use of projection. Active imagination is also used with the hope of sparking creativity and finding meaning in our lives.
As we age, life appears to become more serious. With this heaviness, it is hard to find that once known playful attitude toward life. If this is something you are missing, let’s laugh at the absurdity that is life sometimes, and find it.
