Beth @ The Mend Collective

Clinical Philosophy

I believe each person is worthy of having access to mental health services. Our societal standards put pressure on us in many ways and we are often expected to tackle these problems alone. It takes strength and courage to seek support. I believe that through processing our struggles and through making healthy connections with others, one can heal and grow towards their ideal potential.

Clinical Approach

While working together to build a trusting relationship, I will encourage you to take the lead on your healing process and I will honor your experiences and meet you where you are.

I utilize the frameworks of Relational Cultural Theory (RCT), Narrative Theory, Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory. I incorporate interventions and techniques from Expressive Arts Theory, Narrative Theory and Mindfulness. I am trauma-informed and an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to Asheville in 2006. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a ceramic artist and teacher. I enjoy spending time with my family, being in nature, traveling, and working with my hands. I look forward to getting to know you!
